Patients scheduled at the University Interventional Center will obtain a bill directly from the University Interventional Center (facility) and Gulf Coast Pain Institute (professional) for all services rendered. Patients may pay less for this procedure or service at another facility or in another health care setting such as an office setting. Patients may request an estimate for facility services to be provided. Please note that estimates vary based on insurance carrier, copayments, deductibles and plan specifics. Patients should seek more personalized estimates based on these varying factors from their health insurer or health maintenance organization.
Copayments and Deductibles
Patients will be notified 3-5 business days prior to their procedure date with amounts due at time of service. Please note the facility may collect for deductibles for the professional fees in addition to the facility’s fees as part of the management agreement between Gulf Coast Pain Institute and University Interventional Center. Patients can contact their insurance carrier for Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC) copay amounts prior to the notification call for the exact amount or review their carrier plan. Most carrier copayment amounts for an ASC is between $200-$400. Carrier amounts for a hospital setting is usually higher.

Patients will be provided with a billing statement 7 business days after discharge. IMPORTANT: Patient will receive two billing statements for services – one from the facility (University Interventional Center) and one from their provider (Gulf Coast Pain Institute). Questions regarding the billing statement can be directed to the Patient Billing Liaison at (850) 439-5444. Patients will receive three billing statements and a collection letter if no payment or payment arrangements have been made. Please reach out to your Patient Billing Liaison with any questions pertaining to your statement to avoid going to collections.
